As we have emphasized elsewhere
in this site AVITW strongly believes that prayer is the cornerstone of
evangelism. Without people praying we will not see success in our work.
That is why we have established our prayer team
which is regularly praying for online evangelists.
However we also like to post the most important prayer points here each
week and or each month so that people just passing through can see what is going on and
pray for us and our country. Your prayers are certainly appreciated.
This weeks prayer requests
are:
Pray For Our President: "For strength and
support, also From the presidential prayer team newsletter :
Because the President has launched a new initiative to encourage Americans
to get healthy and stay healthy, this week's prayer concerns focus on the
health and well-being of every American. As the President has made
fitness a personal priority, he is encouraging us all to get out into
God's magnificent creation and to pursue health and fitness with renewed
resolve. Pray with the President that every citizen will consider
improving their own personal health as our nation has become the least fit
and most overweight in recent memory.
Pray also that those who visit our National Parks and Monuments on
Saturday and Sunday for the "Fee Free weekend," that they will be brought
face-to-face with the majesty of God through His creation, desiring to
know Him more and turning to Him in prayer.
Pray for Midwest states that are experiencing horrendous storms and
floods, as well as those in the East and Southwest that are experiencing
drought. Pray especially for the firefighters in Arizona and Colorado as
they fight the largest fires in each state's history. Pray that homes
will be miraculously saved from the flames and that no additional fires
will be started.
The President's concern for the situation in the Middle East remains
high. Pray that the parties involved will agree to abide by his new peace
plan and that bloodshed will be stopped. Pray also for our soldiers and
governmental representatives overseas and at home.

WORDS FROM A MEMBER OF THE HONORARY COMMITTEE
"Prayer is a vital part of the Christian walk. In I Timothy 2, the Bible
commands us to pray for those in authority. It's very important to cover
yourself, and your leaders, in prayer. This is by far the greatest team
I've ever been associated with."
--A. C. Green, Professional Basketball player, founder of the A.C. Green
Youth Foundation.
PRAYER QUOTE FOR THE WEEK
"Prayer is…always affected by the character and conduct of him who prays.
Water cannot rise above its own level, and the spotless prayer cannot flow
from the spotted heart. Straight praying is never born of crooked
conduct."
--Leonard Ravenhill
WORDS FROM THE PRESIDENT
"The events of September 11 have reminded us of our deep and abiding love
for our homeland. And our natural, historic, and cultural sites have
played an important role since that tragic day, serving as places for many
Americans to reflect upon life and renew their hope. I encourage all
Americans to experience and celebrate our wonderful natural heritage."
--George W. Bush
INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES FOR THE WEEK
"Nature is a good name for an effect whose cause is God."
--William Cowper, 17th century hymn-writer
"Take God for your…friend and walk with him continually, and you will not
sin and will learn to love, and the things you must do will work out
prosperously for you."
--St. John of the Cross
OUR NATION'S GODLY HERITAGE
President Theodore Roosevelt's love of the outdoors is well documented.
He was responsible for the creation of several National Parks and
Monuments. In his first Inaugural address, he spoke freely of the
blessings of God upon our nation saying, "I reverently invoke for my
guidance the direction and favor of Almighty God." It is said that when
President Roosevelt entertained diplomatic guests at the White House he
was fond of taking them out to the back lawn at the end of the day. As
the President stood gazing at the night sky, all eyes would eventually be
cast heavenward as his were. In his day, the vast array of stars was not
dimmed by the city lights, and the magnificent display of God's brilliant
creation would overcome the party. After a long moment, Mr. Roosevelt
would say, "Gentlemen, I believe we are small enough now. Let's go to
bed."
INSPIRATIONAL REFERENCES FOR THE WEEK
"The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his
hands. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be
pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer."
The Bible, Psalm 19:1, 14 (NIV)
"Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before
God and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and
do what pleases him."
The Bible, I John 3:21, 22 (NIV)
WORDS ON THE SPIRITUAL VALUE OF FITNESS
"God has scripted energy into every cell of your body. Getting the inborn
energy system operative and running smoothly is your best bet for
achieving a sense of physical well-being and vitality…Exercise helps you
think with greater clarity and creativity. It ignites your ability to
creatively solve problems, thrive under stress, and perform at peak levels
of effectiveness."
--Pam Smith, R.D.
PRESIDENTIAL QUOTE FOR THE WEEK
Four freedoms: The first is freedom of speech and expression -- everywhere
in the world. The second is freedom of everyone to worship God in his own
way, everywhere in the world. The third is freedom from want . . .
everywhere in the world. The fourth is freedom from fear . . . anywhere in
the world.
--President Franklin D. Roosevelt
