Below we have attempted to out line some of the more common concerns people have about sharing their faith through the Internet. If this page helps to reassure you and you would like to join the AVITW evangelistic team then click here to find out more.
To be involved in Internet evangelism with AVITW all you need is an e-mail address. The majority of our evangelism is done via e-mail and in fact every person who has become a Christian through our ministry has done so through one to one person contact via e-mail. An evangelistic site is often a useful tool in evangelism but we have never seen somebody become a Christian by this alone.
Chat rooms are certainly a good place to begin sharing your faith because they provide you with lots of opportunity to meet people and make contacts. However they are only a means to an ends and as is explained above most of the REAL evangelism happens via e-mail. If you cant spend time in a chat room or just find them hard to cope with we are happy to help you establish contacts with non Christians with whom you can talk using e-mail alone. For those that would like to get into sharing your faith in chat rooms then one of our experienced Internet evangelists would be more than happy to take you into a chat room and help you learn the ropes.
A lot of people feel like that but by joining our evangelistic team you would have the opportunity to talk to lots of other Christians in the same position and share hints, fears and ideas. We would also provide you with all the online training and advice you could possibly need. Even if you have never talked to anyone about being a Christian before in your life we would love to help you and encourage you to talk about Jesus on the Internet.
We all live busy and hectic lives and with the Internet we might even be faced with limited access let alone slow connections and data rates. We understand all of that and have designed our evangelistic program accordingly. We can provide you with opportunities to share your faith however much time you have. Together we can set achievable goals in our Internet evangelism that take into account the spare time you have. We encourage all our team members to take little steps in their evangelistic efforts and not to bite off more than they can chew.
Believe it or not evangelism in cyberspace is MUCH easier than in the real world. For a start the feelings of embarrassment many people feel when first sharing their faith is removed because you don’t have the face to face contact. Secondly the person you are talking to feels much more free to ask questions and show interest because they know they can terminate the conversation at any time if it becomes too "heavy". Finally many people are turning to the Internet to meet people and chat with others but when they do, don’t really know what to talk about. If you talk about the subject of God that gives them something more substantial to discuss than what’s your name is and where you come from. So as you can see the Internet is ripe for spreading the good news.
Again this is a common feeling but one that we can easily help you with. Our evangelism team comes from all walks of life and have all kinds of backgrounds. We are more than willing to help you overcome even the most basic technical problem if it will help you share your relationship with Jesus online.
